Welcome to Your Calm Center, a Place of Rest & Connection

Welcome to the Your Calm Center newsletter, designed to provide you with a variety of resources on Holistic Stress and Trauma Recovery. We can all use a little extra support sometimes, whether that means learning something new, talking to someone who understands, receiving a nourishing reiki treatment, listening to a guided meditation at home or resting and connecting with a community of support.

Your Calm Center is here to provide holistic support to anyone who suffers from chronic stress and/or trauma and those who work with people who do--therapists, social workers, nurses, physician's assistants, physicians, reiki practitioners, acupuncturists, spiritual counselors, yoga and meditation instructors, and more.
March is National Social Work Month, and the theme this year is "Empowering Social Workers!" So, in this newsletter, we celebrate social work and highlight a key component to the process of empowering one another to create social change. We all have unique abilities, knowledge, skills, gifts and places in the community that provide opportunities for social connection, support and systemic transformation. Anyone can participate in social change. You don't need a social work degree or breadth of knowledge about the legislative process. All you need is the desire and to take time out for quality rest. Yes, I said rest.
What does rest have to do with social change?
When we reclaim our right to rest while living in a culture that promotes busyness, productivity and consumption of all kinds, we are pushing back on a system that is not designed to serve our highest good. By resting, we choose to care for ourselves and our communities, to attend to our basic human needs and awaken to the deeper longings of our hearts. By resting, we discover not only who we really are but also who we all can be to each other. We discover how we can make the world a better place. Join us as we rest together and connect with the peace we want to see in the world. It starts with us . . . one person, one moment at a time.
If you are having trouble connecting with inner calm and peace, feel free to reach out. I'll be happy to help you in the process. You don't have to do it alone. Sometimes, it feels like we are alone in this world, but there is a supportive community right here that is longing to connect. There are pockets of light--people coming together in these dark times to remind one another of what is also true, present and possible.
Here are some ways you can get started:

Thank you for making this world a better, kinder more peaceful place. We can be the change, the peace, we want to see in the world. Until next time . . .
This is Jess Hagy of Your Calm Center signing off with deepest gratitude. Hope to see you soon! ❤
