Do you long for the lazy days of summer? Do you find it difficult, if not impossible, to rest your body and mind?

It seems that if we don't intentionally create the time and space to slow down, we automatically become sucked into a vortex of hustle and bustle, constantly working to get things done, and we never end up taking a break. This is called grind culture.

There are messages all around us that perpetuate grind culture, such as "Good things come to those who HUSTLE."

While we all have many things that need to be accomplished, perhaps it would serve us to take more time for rest, to restore our bodies, minds and spirits from the many impacts of hard work and stress that we've endured.

What if, instead, we printed "Good things come to those who REST" on our mugs and memes? What if we added a little more rest into our lives just to see what could happen? Maybe everything wouldn't come crashing down. Maybe, instead, we would prevent ourselves from crashing down.

It is okay to take time for yourself.

It is okay to say no, to not say yes to every invitation (even those from your own mind).

FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) is leading many people to burnout.

GRIND CULTURE is leading many people to burnout.

It is time to take our power back. We need to RECHARGE, RESET, RESTORE.

We recharge our phones. When do we recharge our own batteries? How do we recharge our own batteries?

That's my specialty. Whether through simple breathing techniques, mindfulness, reiki energy healing, guided iRest yoga nidra meditation or restorative yoga, I'm here to help you recharge and restore and to guide you in learning how to rest your body and mind.

If you find it challenging to still and quiet your mind, well, of course you do. You are not alone. How can we expect our minds to suddenly stop running when they have been constantly moving on the proverbial hamster wheel? It would be unrealistic to expect a mind to rest after it has been overly conditioned and rewarded to stay busy. The good news is that we can recondition our minds and reap the rewards of rest, and I can teach you how.
